Without the infusion of new material and challenges the creative impulse wanes.
I welcome the interest of any interested party who finds a connection with my style.
For me to get inspired to work with a subject a few necessary conditions are essential: they are attractive and athletic; they are
free spirits and artistic, and that they be blessed with a sense of spontaneity. Their presence shines, their aura sparkles, and the
mystique of their personality is unmistakable in how they move.
Beauty fascinates me as it does everyone, and the more exotic, the more my excitement.
A beautiful woman stirs up a sense of peril and promise in the onlooker. And so does a handsome well put together male. It is what
gives energy to new encounters and to our communication. It is the appeal of the unknown, uncertain, and unfamiliar. For that is where
spontaneity and creativity do the tango. That is what serendipity is all about. You make it happen and it makes you be who you are; a
blending of the softness of silk and the strength of steel. You build character, discipline and creativity on such a premise in all
aspects of your life. For without beauty, without passion, and denied freedom, one's life becomes a mess of boredom and a mountain of
inertia.
Like writing, photography is a process of discovery, of self and the other. Old values are constantly challenged by the dynamics of
time, and new perspectives are forever emerging to deal with new situations and changes of attitudes. Images taken over a period of
time become historical documents; they connect the past to the present moment, and not only visually! The magic in photography
emerges when technique, craft mastery, weds a mature imagination that captures the essence of our humanity. The moment on film, paper,
becomes a witness to history, to change.
For models applying and those wishing to work with me I ask that you be bold and transparent. Bold in confronting the self-examining
eye and, to have the courage to banish judgmental attitudes. And transparent, like a child, without any need to assume, hide or hold
back. The lens is unforgiving in its capture of what is in front of it. So the best approach is to let all guards down, to be totally
in the moment, and to trust intuition and instinct to guide your way to spontaneity and serendipity. My goal in working with any
candidate is to have great rapport in order to put together a series of images that are visually stunning and well woven together into
the fabric of a visual theme. That, will be an accomplishment; a finely performed tango.
